The Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting Conference is an established forum for research into the social, political and organisational aspects of accounting. It brings together accounting researchers with broad social science interests and researchers from disciplines such as anthropology, history, philosophy, sociology and political economy. It responds to the concerns of an evolving research community and seeks to highlight emerging intellectual issues and to encourage new agendas.

After 2009, University of Innsbruck will host IPA for the second time in 2021. The keynote speakers will include Emily Barman (Boston University) and Catherine Gibson (Western Sydney University). We are looking forward to welcoming you for an exciting and intellectually stimulating conference in the spectacular surroundings of the Innsbruck Alpine Region.

The 10th Asia Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting Conference

AAAJ’s 10th APIRA conference in 2022 will be held in China!

The Emerging Scholars Colloquium will take place on 30 June 2022.

The APIRA conference will convene 1-3 July 2022.

The conference and its emerging scholars’ colloquium will be hosted in the city of Wuhan, China, by the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, one of the leading accounting, finance and business universities in China.

The city of Wuhan, with its population of over 10 million, is widely regarded as the economic, financial, commercial, cultural, educational, information technology, trade and transportation hub of Central China.  It houses three national development zones, four scientific and technology development parks, over 300 research institutes, more than 1,600 hi-tech enterprises, multiple enterprise incubators, and investments by 50% of the Fortune Global 500 firms.

This is an exciting step for APIRA in its decades of developing the interdisciplinary accounting research community across the Asia Pacific region.
